      COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER

My name is Duncan Hendry, and I was recently appointed Community Development Worker for the community of Strathdearn.

My main task is to help the Community Trust to maximise any and all opportunities to develop those 'key areas for involvement' as identified by the Community Participatory Appraisal of 2006.

Although I've been in post for a short time, I've attended a meeting of the Community Council and a meeting to carry forward ideas for the Sports Facility. This together with planning a Children's Play Area, and the new Community Centre, will take much of my time, but I would still like to make myself available to Groups within the area who have, or wish to make, plans for improving facilities, which will be used by the Community. I will be attending Community Council meetings, and with any other groups to advance these projects, and if anyone wishes to meet with me informally to discuss any aspect of any idea or project, I would be delighted to speak to you before or after these meetings on an informal basis.

My contact numbers are below, and I look to hearing from members of the Community.
