A Community Participatory Appraisal (CPA) was undertaken in the Strathdearn Community Council area between 21st and 23rd February 2006. The CPA was run by Bill Forest for the Partnership for Rural Inverness & Nairn (PRIN) and funded by the Scottish Executive.
A further community consultation was hosted by PRIN on the evening of Thursday 4th May 2006, in the Strathdearn Village Hall, which the whole community were invited to attend.
The community evening held on the 4th May 2006 indicated that the results of the recent Community Participatory Appraisal correlated with the work undertaken by the four focus groups. The key areas for improvements to sustain the community were Housing, Transport, Village facilities and Youth/Sports facilities. The Community Council are currently considering the appointment of a planning officer to assist
