Step It Up Highland
Walking for Health
STEP IT UP! HIGHLAND is an initiative developed through partnership between Volunteering Highland and the NHS Highland. It aims to give people some opportunity to "walk for health" with groups within their communities.
Why Walk?
- It is free!
- It is accessible to all
- It combines natural physical activity with an opportunity to socialise
- It can easily fit into your life.
How and Where?
Kathy and David Bonniface, Carol James, living in Tomatin and Strathdearn have trained as STEP IT UP! Highland Volunteer Walk Leaders.
We have established a regular Wednesday afternoon walk generally meeting at 2 PM at Strathdearn Community Hall, although we have occasional variations in meeting place and time which we will publicise through the Community Coffee Morning, notice boards, telephone and now the Web-site.
We usually walk for about an hour or a little more, with around a dozen people of mixed age and sex.
We generally finish at the Community Hall with hot drinks and biscuits.
Interested?
Please contact Kathy or David on 01808 511740 or Carol on 01808 531220.
Tomatin Community Walks
The walks will be around an hour's duration (with a"turn back" or shorter option for the less able); some old favourites, but hopefully we will continue to find some new routes too.
Meet at Strathdearn Hall. As before, join good company for an enjoyable outing and tea or coffee afterwards!
Changes in time or venue will be posted on the web-site and publicised at the Community Coffee morning.
We look forward to meeting old friends and new faces.
